San Diego Yacht Club is excited to invite members of the International Star Class to compete at the Star World Championship in San Diego, CA in September, 2024. SDYC has been host to the regatta in 2013, 1994, 1973, 1969, 1961, 1958, 1940, 1938, making 2024 our 9th edition. San Diego Yacht Club and the Star World Championship Committee are committed to making this regatta a top-notch experience for sailors and spectators alike. In addition to seven days on the water, the Star Worlds will be home to thriving hospitality on land. The week will start with a blue-blazer opening ceremony, a midweek dinner on the aircraft carrier Midway, a progressive dinner on property and drinks and snacks daily on the dock after racing. There will be a designated “Star Lounge” for both competitors and guests staffed daily with a yacht club volunteer “ambassador” to answer questions and provide local knowledge.
